Clever Pencils comes from a desire to connect and share stories. It arose out of a fascination with humanity. How we live, survive, and thrive. How we have faith, fall in love, and connect. We are a species capable of so much harm yet so much compassion, ingenuity, and adaptability. We are messy and complex. Funny and inspiring. Chaotic and unpredictable. Compassionate and empathetic. We are never one thing.

I heard a quote attributed to Abbi Jacobson, “What if I told my story and it was yours?” Sometimes, it takes but just one voice to resonate and connect, to feel that slight glimmer of light to inspire hope and restore even an ounce of faith – whether that be in a higher power, humanity itself, or yourself.

This site offers an outlet for creativity in which, hopefully, it allows even just one human to feel seen. It is a place to share and connect with the world, albeit digital, that surrounds us all. After all, even though we exist between a wall of zeros and ones, we are all connected through energy, our intrinsic relationship with nature and each other, and love.
